Low Sodium Creamy Pesto Sauce

This pesto recipe is intended to be part of a low sodium diet but can be enjoyed by all. To best bring out the flavor, add to pasta dishes with freshly seasoned proteins and sauteed vegetables.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 C grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 C fresh basil
  • 1 C pine nuts (can be substituted with walnuts)
  • 1 C extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 T lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 T minced garlic

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor.
  2. Run food processor on high until creamy.
  3. Add salt to taste.
